Christmas!

On December 3rd we had our Christmas Party at the PINT downtown. We had awesome costumes and prizes for the evening. All the teams had at LEAST 2 members present, while only two teams did not attend. I thought that was awesome! We had Christmas trees, gifts, decorations, naughty and nice shots, some Grinch, and we also donated food items to YESS (Youth Emergency Shelter Society). Good job guys and it was great partying with all of you! I mean...socializing!

I'm not gonna lie...I was not home for Xmas.

West-Bound

Who goes to Victoria/Vancouver without a rain jacket????

I started my journey to CIS Field Hockey Nationals at about 5:30am this morning...being delayed by some Saskatchewan man that was on the wrong flight - so we left late...which means that I missed the U of T vs Pandas game at 12:20pm. Since I had time to find a cheaper way to Vic from Vancouver Airport, I was able to take a bus across. Getting on without 30 other rugby players was a sad realization that my years of playing rugby at the U of A had come to an end. Things were starting to sink in... so with a bit of Damien Rice, rainy weather on the ferry, I had myself quite the nostalgic moment.

So far... 3-1 vs UBC (Loss), 2-1 vs UofT (Loss). Carly Fleming scored both goals.

Saturday was a day of MAGIC. That is the ONLY way I can explain it...actually talent, urgency and heart is probably more like it. Pandas played UVIC, who they haven't beaten all year and pulls off this NICE penalty stroke. Traut walks in and shoots - scores! A beauty! Bunny Hughes comes up with this sweet sweep from the left side of the post and makes it 2-1. Player of the game was Jenny Peacock.

Guelph - later in the day.... scores on us first. Not a good sign. Bunny equalizes and Morch makes it 2-1. Player of the game for this game was Jen Cous.

Meanwhile.... Bears Soccer lost in an unfortunate shoot out against UVIC, to take Canwest silver and not advance to Nationals. Goalscorers for the weekend: Milan Timotijevic (2), and Kevin Perry.

Pandas Soccer: Amanda Black (2) and Heather Lund cleans out UVIC for a bronze medal finish and not advance to Nationals. Other goals this weekend, Heather Lund with another one, andCarleigh Miller.

Bears football...um, I was watching this one on Shaw TV. Positive note? You guys look good in your gear. Bears lost to Calgary 45-13. Mike Wasylyniuk with the lone TD for the Bears.... and a shout out to Matt Jarvis - you were on fire.

Pandas FH made it to the final... against the T-birds. Long story short... did not go well. We lost 6-0, although, second at Nationals when you weren't expected to make it there is golden! Bunny Hughes was player of the game. CIS all stars were Bunny Hughes and Jackie Trautman. Congrats Ladies! I'm proud of you!

Both hockey teams cleans out the T-birds. Bears win 6-2 and 8-1. Are you ready for this list of goals scorers? Here goes.... first game: Eric Hunter (2 - good job Eric!), Sean Ringrose, Ian McDonald, Dale Mahovsky and Jason Fransoo (yay :) ) Second game: Ian McDonald (2), Derek Ryan, Colin Joe, Greg Gardner, Reade Wolansky, Kyle Fecho and Chad Klassen...... wow.
- Kyle Fecho is Hudsons Athlete of the Week.

Pandas Hockey: 8-0 and 3-2 win over the T-birds. Goal scorers for the first game: Tarin Podloski (3), Alana Cabana (2), Leah Copeland, Emily Burton, and Stephanie Ramsay. Second game: Sarah Hilworth, Alana Cabana and Stephanie Ramsay.

Bears Basketball: Defeat the Wesmen. 74-56 Jamaal Bucknor with 16 points and 71-68 Harvey Bradford with 16 points. Good job boys!

Pandas Basketball ... ends their weekend with a split. 77-40 win, Nicole Clarke with 19 points. 58-64 loss, Marisa Haylett with 18 points.
